About

Engineering, measured

A backend-focused software engineer who builds scalable applications, reliable APIs and the databases underneath them.

I’m a senior software engineer at BRAC IT, building enterprise applications and financial inclusion platforms, including applications that support operations across East and West Africa. My work there covers backend engineering, system optimization, database performance, integrations and production deployments.

Most of my hardest problems look the same at the core: a pipeline that has to be correct at scale, fast under load, and able to recover on its own when something breaks.

Before BRAC IT I spent nearly four years at BJIT, from trainee to senior engineer, on a World Bank and JICA-funded road incident platform, Japan’s startup ecosystem, a battery management system, a sound recognition platform and a high-performance geospatial API. I value clean code, performance work grounded in measurement, and solutions that scale, whether that means migrating decades of legacy data with zero loss or cutting cloud costs by about 40%.

Now

  • Working onFinancial inclusion platforms at BRAC IT.
  • ExploringAI engineering: LLM integrations, AI agents and agentic coding.
  • Writing aboutBackend engineering, performance and architecture.

Backend engineering for enterprise applications and financial inclusion platforms, including applications that support operations across East and West Africa.

  • Redesigned a distributed financial application’s migration pipeline from sequential to parallel processing, with automatic recovery and live monitoring.
  • System optimization and database performance work on production workloads.
  • Integrations with enterprise and financial systems, and production deployments.

BJIT

BJIT Limited, Dhaka

  1. Senior Software Engineer Jul 2024 – Jun 2025
  2. Software Engineer Nov 2021 – Jun 2024
  3. Trainee Software Engineer Aug 2021 – Oct 2021

Nearly four years across client platforms, from a World Bank initiative for the Dhaka Metropolitan Police to one of Japan’s largest startup ecosystems, focused on backend and DevOps work.

  • Backend engineer on DRIVER: automated the migration of thirty years of road incident data with zero loss, and built the predictive danger-zone models.
  • Lead backend engineer on the Battery Management System, MEMO2 and Zenrin Map.
  • Startup Studio: login and signup from seconds to under one second, and cloud costs down by about 40%.
  • Led and mentored the ERP team through a 350,000-record Odoo migration in one month.

02Expertise

What I reach for, and why

Backend engineering

APIs and services that stay correct under concurrency, with the slow work pushed to the background.

  • Python
  • Django
  • Django REST Framework
  • FastAPI
  • REST API design
  • Celery
  • Background jobs
  • Go, PHP, Node.js

Databases and performance

Query plans, indexes and transaction boundaries before more hardware.

  • PostgreSQL
  • Query optimization
  • Indexing, JSONB and GIN
  • Connection pooling
  • Concurrency and transactions
  • Redis
  • PostGIS
  • MySQL, MongoDB

Distributed processing

Parallel pipelines, queues and the integrations that feed them.

  • Parallel workers
  • Message queues
  • ActiveMQ
  • AWS Step Functions
  • Financial system integrations
  • Third-party APIs

Infrastructure and cloud

Shipping to production and keeping it healthy once it’s there.

  • AWS: EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, DynamoDB, CDK
  • GCP
  • Linux
  • Nginx, Gunicorn
  • Docker
  • MinIO object storage
  • CI/CD
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting

Frontend

Enough of the full stack to own a feature end to end.

  • JavaScript
  • Vue.js
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • Responsive interfaces

AI and automation

What I’m exploring now, on top of earlier ML work: a Bangla handwriting recognition project and DRIVER’s forecasts.

  • LLM integrations
  • AI agents
  • Agentic coding
  • TensorFlow, Keras
